Love, love, love these shorts

I have the long, zip off pants version of these shorts and love them. When needing shorts for a trip, I was pleased to find these. Size: These do run small. I had to go up a size from the long pant version of the same thing. Comfort: Nice length and comfortable. There is some give to the fabric so it moves with you but doesn't stretch out or become baggy as you are wearing them. Color: This color goes with everything and also doesn't show dirt. Weight: Light weight but has enough substance that the shorts don't ride up or feel flimsy. Performance: I wore these on the walk up to the top of Diamond Head in Honolulu and they perfect. I also wore them kayaking up a river on Kauai and then on an extremely muddy, 2-mile hike through the rain forest. They got wet but never felt clammy against my skin and dried out quickly. Bottom line: Perfect, perfect, perfect. Will be using these on future trips and adventures. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase again.

Disappointed, I wanted to like these...

At first glance and feel I loved these shorts. They are crazy soft and lightweight and feel airy like they’ll breathe really really well. But for $50 they better be near perfect for me to justify spending that much. Sadly they are not. I really wanted to like them but there’s two big annoyances I just can’t live with for that price tag. You can’t see it in the picture, but along the outer seam of the right leg there’s a zippered slip pocket. Seemed like a good idea at first, but there’s not stitching holding the pocket in place. It was probably for aesthetics but the pocket bunches up and moves around and looks really dumb especially if you like a snugger fitting short like me. I don’t see myself ever using that pocket, and since it doesn’t stay in place I really won’t. It feels like a waste of fabric. The second annoyance has to do with what I’d call the normal pockets that you might put your hands in...they stick out. Instead of lying flush with your hip they pucker and stick out away from your body. Maybe I got an odd pair that slipped through QC but as a woman with ample hips I didn’t appreciate the extra volume. I’m normally a huge Columbia fan and am used to getting a quality product, so it was very disappointing to have to send these back.

Good shorts! Run a bit small - too my advantage though

This is my first pair of Columbia pants/shorts, so I am not sure if their size normally runs like this. I am 5'3" 97 lbs, and normally wear pants size 0p or 00 for most brands. Since there is no 0 for this product and many reviews mentioned it running small, I decide to give size 2 a try. I am glad that I did! Size 2 fits me just right- a little room on the waist but snugly on the thighs. I don't think people normally wear a size 2 can fit in this.

Greatest shorts

Awesome shorts tho they run a tad bit smaller in the waist than the anytime long shorts I prefer but need this darker Gary color. This is the best material for hot weather walks I have found and overall just plain the most comfortable shorts. Last year was the first time I've worn shorts in 30 years...lost weight so decided to try and so glad I did. I weigh 139 with a thicker stomach and I ordered the 12 which is my size in the others that are even a little big but these must be a little more fitted. Still they are comfortable. A little shorter than the anytimes but not that much still long enough to cover the worst part of these old legs! Rise is good also, not short.

RIP Chaffing.

I have struggled my entire life with chaffing so bad that my thighs bleed. I've tried all kinds of things, but nothing has helped. These shorts have made that a thing of the past! I hiked over 10 miles in these shorts with NO CHAFFING. They don't ride up and they manage my excessive sweating superbly well. Ironically, after the hike I changed into a dress for bar hopping and was limping by the end of the night from chaffing. I typically wear a 12 or 14 pant; based off of other reviews I ordered the size 16. I have a bit of room in them, but they are not falling down when I wear them.

Great short that you may want to order in your usual size

I know the rule of thumb is Columbia runs a size too small, so I got the 10. It fit fine for one day but by the end of the day and thereafter (I was camping), it stretched out and got bigger. Disappointing as the initial fit was flattering and fabric soft yet shaping. Next time, I get my usual 8.

I love them like I do all my Columbia plus size ...

I owned another pair of Columbia sport wear capris, and got these to wear on warmer days. I love them like I do all my Columbia plus size wear. Thank you for making plus size! The quality is top notch. Don’t worry if the price seems a little high, you get exactly what you pay for: high quality. I’ve worn these Columbia shorts on several multi-day vacations, they are light and airy, but strong and flexible. There shorts fit my body like “normal” meaning they don’t look boxy or overly large.

Waist a little too small

nice shorts and I like the length and they fit well in the thigh and rear but I think they are made for the figure that is younger than mine because my waist is larger than it used to be although the rest of the short fit.

Mix up between US and UK sizing on website

Ordered a UK size 16 but was sent a US size 12 which I believe is equivalent. These shorts would be very tight on a standard size 16 figure especially around the waist. I am a UK size 12/14 and these are a nice fit in US size 12. Recommend going up a size in this brand of trousers, although they are very stretchy, so if you prefer the tight sculptured look a US 12 will be fine for size 16 UK. Personally I prefer a slightly more relaxed fit for walking trousers.

Talla W10/L10 para una 38 europea

Después de mucho investigar y buscar información sobre las tallas pedí la W10/L10, yo uso talla europea 38 de pantalón y esta talla que he pedido me va bien. El pantalón es fino y ligero, sienta bien y no aprieta. De largo igual que en la foto de la modelo. El color es más azulado que gris, pero bonito.

Ging retour

Wäre preislich ein Schnäppchen gewesen, aber leider ist es mittlerweile immer sehr schwer sich auf Größenangaben von Herstellern zu verlassen. Hose war zu klein, größer gab es sie nicht. Muy comodos

La talla es algo más grande de lo q esperaba. Uso la 38 y pedí la 6. El color no es tan rijo sino tirando más a tierra pero son bonitos y fácil de conjuntar. Muy buena calidad y fresquitos
