Updating again because I'm awesome :-)- Well obviously I love these, but even to this day they look new. No busted seams, cracks or anything. I've upgraded my laces to elastic boot laces so I can easily slide these on without having to tie any laces, for those moments while you're camping and in the middle of the night when you gotta get up and go outside. Easy least, I love them. UPDATE#2!!!- Okay y’all so just for fun i’m giving you another update on these beauties. this summer i was a Rec Leader at an outdoor nature-centric Summer Camp. The park is a protected natural preserve and everyday i was walking at least 2 miles a day through wet grass, muddy slippery rocky trails, heavy rain, dirt/dust, climbing in & out of sinkholes of limestone rock, getting splashed on by kids in the pool, etc. i wore these EVERYDAY this summer because i was not about to ruin my sneakers for the job, summer is rainy season here and it gets SO HOT so i knew it just made sense to wear these. They help up fantastic. They still look new- nothing is loose or cracked whatsoever. they’re nice and tight and crisp, albeit a little dirty :)) just wanted to let you know how they held up with everyday wear and tear bc i definitely tested them this summer. and they remain strong :). I’m going to Tennessee in a few weeks and these will again be the only shoes i bring :) you just can’t go wrong. these are my go-to shoes for moments where regular sneakers just won’t cut it. still 1000% recommend. love these so much UPDATE!- so I’ve come and gone to Iceland with these babies as my ONLY shoes for the trip- a week full of hiking, exploring and campervan-ing. They did not disappoint! The slight concern on my first post was definitely my own problem, lacing them all the way or halfway never gave me any tongue-chafing again. I LOVE the lace hooks from the ankle up- it made taking the shoes off and on in airports a total breeze. I was in freezing temps, wore with some cheap wool socks, my feet were always warm. Lightweight you can run with no problems but sturdy to where you still feel supported. It rained many times while I wore them, I even had to step into a little river to cross and continue a hiking trail- the boots were submerged to where the icy water was halfway up foot level but my feet were completely dry, (I even stayed there a few extra seconds to test the shoe’s power) the outside of the shoe barely looked wet and dried shortly after that as if it never happened. Wonderful shoes- again for the price you just can’t beat them. Would highly recommend and purchase again in a heartbeat! ORIGINAL- These are so nice! I needed a pair of waterproof hiking boots for my upcoming Iceland trip in October, and boy am i impressed. Right off the bat they are super comfy and sturdy but still lightweight- (nothing like my Dr. marten boots i own that are stylish, but feel like bricks.) great grip on the bottoms, nice height too- not too tall where they chafe your ankles but not too low where they still support your ankles. Love the colors too- the red laces add a nice touch of color and the camel color is beautiful. Very well made, great quality, suede is nice and soft, no loose stitching or anything like that-these look built to last. So far ive only worn them out once to a local nature trail through the woods, and it rained a bit while i was out. (usually i wear sneakers on that trail and wobble over the roots and rocks)- but with these, i felt so secure as i walked, they were very comfortable to wear, and even after the mud and rain- They looked new straight of of the box. I'm guessing its the way its designed, but bottom of the boot did a really good job at keeping the debris Under the shoe rather than All Over it. My only complaint, and this could by my own issue and not the shoe's, is that while i wore them, i laced them up all the way. I don't know if this is how you're supposed to wear these, because the lace hoops really only come up to the top of your ankle, where your foot bends- and above that, there arent holes fr the laces but hooks that you can use to close up the boot more securely i'm guessing.- But when i did this, i did feel some discomfort on one of my feet from the inner ankle area where the laces felt too tight and were making the tongue of the boot kinda rub and press on my foot/ankle. It wasn't unbearable, but uncomfortable. Not knocking any points off the boot though, cause i can just adjust the way i lace them and maybe i wont have that issue anymore. Overall, for the price and quality, these boots are tough to beat in my opinion. They get the job done, and they seem like they will last a long time. Im happy with my purchase. I will come back and let you guys know my experience with these in Iceland!
