Nice Shorts

Replaced a very old pair that did not owe me anything

I’ve had an old pair of these shorts for many years now. I abused them with everything from paint splatters to scooting around on grass and pavement while working around the house or boat. They put up with the abuse admirably but finally started to look a bit tired. The new ones (I bought 2 pairs I like them so much) fit perfectly and will probably last a long time. These shorts have a lot of great pockets. Cargo style in the front along with slash pockets carry more that you need. There is a zippered pocket in the back left and a deep open top pocket on the right hip. I particularly like the hip pocket as I can securely keep my wallet there within easy reach without having to sit on it. I highly recommend these durable shorts.

Comfortable and practical shorts that will last

I just got these shorts and love them. They are good for the outdoors or everyday wear (I wore my old ones to school, work and camping). I love all the pockets and the D ring to hang keys on. Several years ago I found Columbia shorts almost exactly like this in a store except they were women's (yes, I'm a female), and they were great shorts that lasted a long time (up until a month ago). Now I need a replacement. None of the other shorts had all the pockets these have AND the D ring. I like the two smaller front pockets with Velcro closure, and the rope loops are a nice detail. The main front pockets are deep so things don't fall out. I also like the zipper pocket in the back plus an extra elastic pocket for a small phone, or whatever you want, in the back. The phone pocket is something that is hard to find these days and is something I use often. The D ring is handy to clip your keys to so they don't get lost - a great little feature that, surprisingly, not many other hiking/outdoors shorts have. The material is durable yet soft. Normally men's medium fit just right, so I bought these in medium. They are a little bit loose but still wearable without a belt (for when I'm lazy) and if I wear a belt then they are fine. For reference, I am 5'6, about 150 lbs and men's pants size 32. They also feel a little softer than my old ones and are just as comfortable, but a little longer. Because of the partial elastic in the back, they can fit a range sizes. I have ordered a small thinking they might fit more like my old women's shorts, but the small is just a little too small. I am exchanging them for another pair of mediums. These are the closest thing to the old shorts I loved so much so I will probably buy a third pair before these disappear too.

My favorite shorts ev

Discovered these shorts in my quest to find a shorter short that doesn’t cover my knees. Shorts have gotten so long that they can no longer qualifies even being called shorts. If your shorts go down to midcalf they’re no longer shorts. We call those floods or short pants. Maybe jams back in the day. These have really nice front pockets and also a side pocket that’s perfect for a phone. Super loose so you can do impromptu squats or karate moves. The fact that they are short and loose also makes it easy to take a whiz in the woods if you need to. I have four pair that I rotate out on an almost daily basis. I actually ordered a size smaller because they seem to run a bit big. The first pair I bought in my normal size was more like a man dress. They are also a bit pricey as well but worth it.

Great as always

Great as always. Fit was as is should be. Comfortable just as in the past. Can’t find these anywhere anymore where I live. Keep up the good work

I like these shorts for certain activities but watch out for manufacturing defects like missing Velcro. I haven’t decided yet if it’s worth the effort to return them.

Nice shorts for a short guy

I've owned two pairs purchased years ago. I'm 5'6" so most shorts hang well below my knees. The short inseam on these PFGs works well for me. I caught one pair on the tractor a month ago and ripped them. To my amazement I found them on Amazon and ordered two additional pairs. Good fit, rigid and very functional. One criticism is there is no rear wallet pocket.

Fit is generous, colour is peculiar

Overall satisfied. I ordered size large because I am a 38 waist in jeans. These shorts fit big with the half elastic waist band , I could use a medium. Almost white in colour, much lighter shade than older version. Material seem to be slighty lighter weight than previous version as well...but finish quality is good Columbia standard.

Functional shorts

Decent shorts but the colour is too light. They really need to offer a straight khaki colour. These are very light and have a yellowish tone. Pockets are great, fabric is nice and fit is good for the larger legged fellow. Sizing is larger than typical, consider sizing down.
