Perfect for outdoor pet heating pad but needed to upgrade outdoor outlet for safety

Just what we needed. The heating pad is in a dog house. However, we upgraded the cover on our outdoor outlet to better protect it from rain/snow when the extension cord is plugged in and added a snap-together all weather plastic protector for where the extension cord and pad plug together.

Works perfectly in-place in my yard year-round

I use this with an electric birdbath. There's an outlet in my crawl space and I plug it in there, then the cord runs through a hole out into my yard and up into the birdbath. The cord stays in place year-round (so I can't comment on how well it coils back up). In the warmer weather, I unplug it and wrap the plug in plastic (within the crawl space), then unscrew the basin of the birdbath and unplug the other end, wrapping it in plastic as well then leaving it inside with the base screwed back on over it. It's spent three years like that (three full winters) and is still going strong. I'm in Washington DC so our winters are mild but we do get down to the single digits a few days each winter. The birds always have water, not ice. This cord does the job.

seems worth the money

I used this cord for a few items that stay plugged in our carport... chargers and car vacuum. After buying it I realized I will want to plug in the little tire compressor out there, the 16ga wire might be too small for that, but it's my own problem if it is, and I'll just have to run a temporary 12ga extension if that's the case. The green is easy to see so nobody trips on it, but does have to go across some grass area and it's totally hidden there. No complaints, mine was no more stiff than any other utility extension cord, well made, good socket at the end (I have some Harbor Freight extension cords that make unreliable contact, which is frustrating). So far it's a good buy for the price paid. 25 ft would not have reached and 50 ft would be too long, so I'm pleased with my purchase.

Misleading safety labels

I bought this extension cord for the express purpose of hanging Christmas lights outside. The description and packaging says “outdoors”, yet the tag on the cord says “do not use when wet” and “keep away from water”. I have no intention of submerging it in the sink...but if it’s going to be used to hang lights outside, it’s going to get wet. I have no idea if this is normal or not, but given the fact that there are even Christmas lights on the packaging, I’m going to assume it is. Everything else works/looks as promised.

nice good cord but deceptive title name

nice cord an durable but sad kinda upset title name wrireup says cord with timer but deceptive as no timer on it which me was hoping an needed such option .. original title add said : ( Outdoor Extension Cord With Heavy- Duty Digital Timer, User Friendly, Weatherproof, Energy Saving Precision Program, 40 Feet, 120 Volts, Black and Green ) but no such timer .. gues wont buy more as was going too

Got two sets. Have been using for 3 weeks - work great! One set is setting up in my Yukon. One set frames the for at work. The set comes with one battery, but the battery holder can accommodate two. I ordered two higher capacity batteries and placed those in one set....that set has come on for 6 hours every day for 20 days outdoors and is still going strong. The other set has the two original batteries (lower capacity) and had also come on for 6 hours daily indoors for 10 days with no need to recharge.

Good heavy duty outdoor extension cord.

I bought this to replace an orange cord I had in my front yard for Christmas lights. The green color blended in better but the new cord is very stiff and won't lie flat on the ground, at least not in the cold temperatures we have in winter here. So now the cord is more visible than the orange one since it loops up a few inches above the ground. We got 3 inches of snow, which would have completely covered the orange cord but not the green one.

Would have appreciated a flatter plug

Works as advertised so far, though a lower profile plug would allow the outdoor outlet cover to sit better. When that bothers me enough, I'll replace the single cover receptacle with one that had individual weather covers for each socket. Less one star
