Great towel!

This is the third Cacala towel I've bought. I'm slowly converting all of my bath and beach towels to Turkish towels, and this brand really fits the bill. I've tried others but this brand suits me best. They are lightweight, dry quickly, and pack small. I wish they had the smaller size! I have another brand I use for travel, but the quality isn't as good but it is a better size. For most uses though, these can't be beat.

Love these!

I got mine 6 years ago and have taken it on every vacation, beach day, and hotel stay. It is now time to replace it, and I'm going for the same thing. So lightweight. Packs easily. Looks great wrapped around my waist. I've bought them for friends and family members. Everyone loves them!

No more thick fluffy towels for me!

I bought two of these, the gray and lime colored ones, and they arrived yesterday. Last night I washed both my Peshtemals in cold water and then tumble dried them for about 20 minutes (I didn't want them to stay in the heat any longer than necessary). They didn't shrink and the colors didn't fade. They do wrinkle a bit, but that doesn't bother me. I took a shower this morning and used one to dry off. To me, it dried just as well as my regular bath towel*, so that was nice. It felt a little odd to be toweling off with something that felt like a giant dish towel, but that doesn't bother me. The size is perfect for wrapping up in and, I have to admit, it makes a rather adorable wrap. The towel was wet in places (maybe 40% wet) after I finished drying. If I had washed my hair, it would have been wetter. 20 minutes after my shower, the towel is just damp in a few small places and I am able to hang it on a hook without worrying about it becoming musty. And this is only after the first wash. The instructions and online reviews said the towels get softer and more absorbent after 3 washes. But even now, I have no complaints. After test #1, I'm a fan! Note: According to online reviews, some places (even on Amazon) sell knock-offs or cheaply made peshtemals, which are thinner and don't hold up as well. I did quite a bit of research before ordering these, was careful to get ones that were sold by Cacala (not a third party selling the Cacala brand), and I'm very happy with the quality. *When comparing these towels' absorbency to my regular towels, it should be mentioned that my regular towels absorb well and I have no complains about them in that regard. I never use fabric softeners, which build up on your towels over time and cause them not to absorb, and always add vinegar to the wash. So when I say that the peshtemals absorb as well as my regular towel, this is a compliment because my regular towels absorb just fine.

I'm not sure about this one.

I used it for only three days and it has a hole already. I Did not see anything wrong with it when I received it, the hole is possibly my fault. I work at a pool so my towels get tossed in and out of my swim bag and frequently doused in chlorinated water. So maybe it snagged on something? But... none of my other Cacala towels have any holes in them (I think I have five others). My other Cacala towels survived similar treatment for years. They have been so sturdy that I would happily tie them together and escape out a tower window. One of my old towels did lose some tassels after over 3 years of hard use. I might even still be using that one with its missing tassels if it hadn't been stolen from my car (maybe the thief -if reading this- would like to add a comment on whether the towel held up well despite missing some tassels?). So here I am with a new towel that already needs patching. Of course I took the label off it first thing. My bad. There were a couple minor issues with this towel. It had a lump of yellow fluff on the border of the blue and pink stripe. This turned out to be easily pulled loose. You can't see where it was now. One corner has a few lose strands that need to be wound into a tassel. Not real problems, but I took pics anyway. Otherwise it seems very much like my old beloved Cacala towels. The colors are bright and cheerful. It's still a bit rough but feels like the others did when new, all are soft now. Comparing the weave, it looks the same between my old blue & lime green towel and this one. I am hoping that after patching up the hole I will have as many years of fun with this one as my other towels. I'm just really surprised it already needs patching.

I’ve owned this towel for 4 years now...

After I fell in love with a Turkish towel my bff brought me from Istanbul, I decided to order a couple more. Because I wouldn’t be traveling to Turkey any time soon, I turned to Amazon—since it’s the next best thing to being there. That was almost four years ago, now, and I’ve used the three towels regularly (the direct import by my bff and the two acquired via this seller). I rotate through and wash them often, although I tend to use the two I bought here more. They feel better on my skin and are better quality. The towels have worn extremely well: They haven’t shrunk, the colors haven’t faded, and the fringe is even in great shape! Rolled up, they’re very compact, and they stash easily into the tiny crevices on the sides of a suitcase being packed for a winter getaway to Hawaii. I use mine as a coverup at the beach, wrapped sarong-style, or at night around my shoulders if the trade winds get a little chilly. Finally, in the summer, I like using these as bath towels because they’re much lighter weight than terry cloth, and I cool down faster after a steamy shower and dry quickly. I’d love to buy some new ones—there are so many pretty colors to choose from—but I don’t need any more. Definitely five thumbs up! I mean stars. Oh, you know what I mean! Buy one, you’ll be happy. :)

Life changer after the shower.

I am so shocked with this towel, I bought it for my camper as normal towels get so wet they are difficult to dry. Wow! I washed it and started using it in the house and haven’t stopped! I’ve bought some more and have given up with terry towels. The reason? These are lightweight, they dry really fast, look great on or on the towel rail, they don’t get a damp smell if not dried fast after shower, you can use for other things like table cloth! A wrap, curtain, beach towel, throw, scarf!’ Honestly they are brilliant. It is similar to cotton tea towels which you may find it weird for drying yourself as we are not used to that, but they just wipe all water away leaving me much drier than w terry towel. I throw it over the door and it dries quick. No damp? No smells, no heavy wet towels slung over the banister. Perfect!!!

Good for everyday. Light and compact.

Excellent quality towel. Washes well and looks good. Lightweight and compact for use in a campervan but also good for everyday use as it dries thoroughly. This is my fourth I have bought and have given up using terry towels after using these

Best, light towel in the world

I have finally found a towel I enjoy using. I have a phobia for heavy, fluffy towels and I have now got my dream towels. I will be buying more of these beauties. That's a promise!
