Not the correct replacement part
when you go to my model of toro lawnmower they say this is the replacement starter, when it is indeed not. By the time you figure this out, you’ve got your lawn more parts you have to look around for the right starter replacement instead of us.

Starter or battery?
Perfect fit, worked great, making pulling to start a thing of the past for me. Love the electric start. The small battery my craftsman mower came with finally went dead so I bought a larger battery and mounted it on the deck and rewired and not I have a monster electric start. I almost love mowing my year -- key word is "almost". This starter is strong, In the end, my smaller battery checked out with 12 volts on my meter but it turned out it was dead and for some reason can still register 12 volts but not strong enough to turn the starter. I bought the new Starter and really did not need it as I found out when I mounted a new battery. Still the starter is fair priced and new and works great, once the proper current is applied. Now my old starter is a back up.

Doesn't look the same, BUT...
I posted earlier that this does not fit, but I stand corrected. It looks different with that mount sticking out and the sprocket is noticeably smaller than the original. But upon closer observation the sprocket has moved inboard which makes up for the smaller diameter and that funky mount is not used and is not in the way. However you do need to cut the housing as noted in the enclosed instructions, since they moved that sprocket shaft inboard it now prevents the housing above it to fit properly. Better have a good pair of tin snips handy.

Excellent replacement, fit perfectly.
Used this starter to replace a 795092 with a frozen bendix on it that was partially burned anyway. Bolted right up to the motor, even tried to crank the engine over. Apparently the decompression mechanism on the cam has flown apart inside this particular engine and I'm waiting on the new cam to come in to do a proper repair, but all in all starter worked and fit as advertised with no issues. Instructions that come with the starter show how to modify the air shroud if needed but in my case the shroud was nowhere near the starter in the affected areas so it was just plug and play. If only the rest of the engine would have cooperated...

nice starter
I am a homeowner and found this to be generally simple to install. Make sure your motor has the holes set for this before buying and that the flywheel has the matching gears or you will also need to replace it as well. Wiring diagram is useless, but simply connect one wire to positive and the other to ground. No need for a starter relay or anything. It does not draw more than a few amps. But with the lack of a wiring diagram I did puzzle over how to power it since I was used to starters that needed a separate starter system with a starting relay.

Powerful starter!
Didn't realize how worn out my old starter was until I replaced it with this new one. Like night and day! My old starter was turning over my engine but seemed to work efficiently only when I had fully recharged my battery. This new starter is quiet, more powerful and will crank that engine even when the battery starts to wear down. No more pulling the rope halfway thru cutting my lawn. It's pricey, but in my opinion worth it! I did have to make another slight modification on the starter to completely clear my gas line, but no big deal! Buy it!

Exact replacement - worked great!
This was an exact replacement for the original starter motor that started failing on me this spring. Easy to remove the old one and install the new one. Works like a champ!

Perfect replacement.
Perfect fit for my 21" Troy Bilt 190cc self propelled lawn mower with Briggs and Stratton engine. The old bracket supporting the electric starter broke putting gear on starter motor out of alignment and stripping the gear. Couldn't find part number for the bracket only. Bought whole new assembly and it fit perfectly. Took about 15 minutes to repair. Now good as new.

Amazing transformation!
My 14 year old pinto tractor would start when it wanted to, changed battery and solenoid first, no difference. Also changed Bendix and gear. Motor was last, wish it had been first. Difference is phenomenal. Smaller motor, smaller gear, many times the power. And my blower casing did not need any mods. Very happy!

New type not direct replacement for older
Bought to replace one in mower where a wire had vibrated enough to fail. This will not replace the older unit even though its the latest version. The bolt holes do not line up, extended loop on upper casting would need removed and finally the motor orientation is 180 degrees out for wires to pick up the connector. Quite a it of DIY to make it usable!

Worked fine.
Update after three months of light use. I store my lawn mower in controlled environment. Just before the winter, I winterized my lawn mower and noticed that the starter worked only one out of ten tries. I waited for a machenic to come and check. The machenic came after a few months due to Covid and diagnosed that the new starter has started to go bad. Original review: Mine didn't look like the one in the picture. It had the old/original style look which is a bit bigger than the one in the picture. Got it replaced and worked fine.
