Worked well and as expected. Wish plug was collapsible
This took the place of my previous travel plug/surge suppressor, and (except for one feature) has the same features as my previous one (which did last me over 11 years’ of traveling). This one being a different brand, will have to prove its lasting power, only in the future. Overall, I liked it, it did a good job charging phone, laptop and full-sized tablet all at once, with 2 plugs to spare. My only beef with this is that its plug does not collapse, making it take more space in packing. Not a huge deal, but an important consideration. I’ll note that a multi-week’s search for one with a collapsible plug, yielded nothing. Buying this one was my very last resort, to have one as similar to my original model as possible (the other one was a different brand, and that particular model has been inexplicably, discontinued).

Works with your Blackberry iPod or Motorolla Razr…time machine or surge protector?
Works fine. Comes with an obsolete USB mini cord. Seems like a 2002 product in a 2022 package.

Adaptable in tight space
Provides additonal outlets from single outlet so great for tight spaces and need for additonal outlets from single duplex wall outlet. Downfall, if using vertically the weight of additonal plugs on outlet cause it to not remain secure in wall outlet and leans 'out' pulling from socket. Outlet could use a support on opposite end on multi-outlet to reduce space between device and wall to keep it secure in opposite end in the wall outlet preventing it from pulling out, tilting down. Size is small enough to take for travel.

Passes the iPod test and offers a couple of curious "extras"
I've generally had good results from Belkin products, though when I ordered this mini-power strip it had a lower rating than what I'm currently seeing. Some consumers apparently felt it was underpowered and too weak to charge their Apple devices. Initially, I was somewhat dubious myself when I saw that the included USB cable had a regular USB connector on one end and a mini-USB connector on the other--fine for digi-cameras and the like but virtually useless with any of my Apple products. Upon connecting a couple of iPods to the USB outlets with the proper cables, I'm happy to report that I've had no trouble charging my players, and it's just now charged my MacBook Air concurrently with the iPods. Admittedly, the item is rather bulky (thicker and heavier than an iPod Touch with cover), and its usefulness around the house remains to be discovered. Despite the rather hefty size for a "mini" device, it's quite likely that the 3-receptacle side will accommodate only two rather than three plugs (one solution to the problem of outsized plugs, power bricks, etc. is to use "shorty" cords--available from Amazon--that extend 6" from the surface of the power strip). But the only reason the strip might be considered "mini" is its use of 3 rather than 7 or more AC receptacles. I'm somewhat surprised that a normally "Apple-friendly" company like Belkin would seem to overlook that association with a cable guaranteed to "charge practically all your devices"--except of course those rarely seen iPods and MacBooks. At least the company thought well enough of the product to include a "genuine" Belkin cover for the prongs of their AC plug (the instructions telling the user to slide the cover into the tiny notch at the other end of the strip for better "balance" are at once curious and weak. If you discarded the prong cover before reading the instruction sheet, not to worry: the prong cover fits rather loosely in the intended slot, and the claim regarding better balance is, well, rather absurd (theoretically, it would be a "stabilizer" should you plug the strip into a receptacle that allows both ends of the device to be flush with the connecting surface. Perhaps if the strip were, say, three times its present length it would serve such a purpose). In short, the mini strip-charger definitely should be a handy addition to any traveler's Messenger bag, providing the pilgrim doesn't mind carrying one additional gadget (albeit a most practical one). The concept is good, the ability to rotate the strip after it's been plugged in is a happy inspiration, and the device appears to deliver on its promises and then some. Speaking of which, I have yet to determine the reason for the included mini-USB cable, though I suspect most of us can use an extra one (unlike the plug cover). [I'm seeing price swings in the 10-20 range with this product. At the lower end of that range, it's an inarguable value.]

Just the right size
For now - I use in my bedroom. Just the right size. Belkin is my go to brand for surge protection.

Belkin Multipurpose Surge Protector... a decent bargain
I'm on my PC notebook as I write this review of theBelkin Mini Surge Protector/Dual USB Charger , and it's being charged (and protected) as I write these words. Where I live in Eastern Pennsylvania, we're the frequent victims of power outages and voltage spikes, as those we went through in the winter and spring of 2011. Needless to say, protecting my computer and electronic gear is extremely important. At this moment, the three power ports the are filled with the following devices: - ASUS Notebook PC with 15.6" display, running Windows 7 - MacBook Pro with 13.3" display, running OS X 10.6.8) - Charger for Plantronics Voyager 520 Bluetooth Headset The two USB outlets are populated with cords to my Kindle 2 (for charging) and to my BlackBerry 9330's charger. Further, each of the two notebook computers have external USB-powered hard drives plugged in for backup purposes... in other words, everything is loaded. As usual, there's no heat being generated, and my gear is protected as well as one could expect, up to 36,000A maximum spike current. In truth, this mini surge protector is in service on a 24/7 basis unless I'm traveling to another location Pros * 360° rotating power plug; 3-prong plug has 4 locking position * Green indicator light indicating grounded power * 125V/15A; 1,875W continuous duty electrical rating * 2 USB outlets for charging devices at 5V/500mA on each port * Plastic prong cover; protects prongs while traveling * Compact and efficient design; reliable Cons * May be a bit bulky for some while traveling * Not designed for 220/240V international travel In it favor, this Belkin Mini Surge Protector/Dual USB Charger is backed by a lifetime warranty and a $75,000 connected equipment warranty. Hopefully I'll never need to use either, but it's good to know that my gear is well-protected this way. This unit may be too big or bulky for traveling for some, though I found that I could tuck it away in my computer cases without much effort. If it seems too big for your use, check out theBelkin F9H220-TVL Travel Surge Protector with Hidden Swivel Plug . I've used one, and its swivel plug folds away neatly for storage in your bag, though this model has only two power outlets and no USB charging ports. Can also highly recommend the TargusMini Mobile Surge Protectors , which I've reviewed before on that page. They're still in service. Should you need a solution for international travel, theSimran SM-60 110V-250V Universal 3 Outlet Power Strip/Surge Protector for Worldwide Travel might be a good choice, but be sure that you have international plug compatibility. TheAll-in-One Travel Power Plug Adapter for US, UK, EU, AU is a handy and compact choice for over 150 countries, but check the power and plug requirements of the country you're visiting. This Belkin Mini Surge Protector has worked out well enough for me, enough so that I have two of them now. They may be bigger than some want for travel, but they have fit my needs perfectly, and I have no reservations about recommending them as a 5-star choice if your needs are similar to mine. 1/14/2012

Love the concept, hate the execution
Love the concept. However, the one I got is not compatible with a lightning cable. I say this because I've been through 2 cables. Yes, one is a cheapo and one is expensive. I really don't understand why but the connection is strong for a few weeks. Then, it becomes sketchy. Connection is on and off. Sometimes I have to wiggle the end that's plugged into the phone. I thought the cables were faulty but I've tested it with 3 bricks plugged directly into the wall and they are all fine. Also, the button that you push to enable the unit to rotate is really difficult to use. I have to really press it (you can't even tell if it's pressed) for it to work.

Usb charger completely useless
This product is not able to charge more than 1 usb device at a time. If I plug in my phone and my Galaxy watch at the same time, the charging switches back and forth between the two devices. This is extremely annoying if one or more devices vibrates when it gets a charger connection. Try going to sleep when the watch charging at your bedside vibrates every two seconds. Also, with only my wireless phone charger connected (no watch or other USB devices), it still only charged up by 70% after the whole night. I know it's not a fast charger and that wireless charging is less efficient, but that is ridiculous. I bought several of these for the usb port convenience and have wasted my money. I would return them all had I not already thrown out the boxes.

looks good, poor quality!
In a quiet environment, it emit an annoying buzz even without anything plugged into it. On a mural outlet, When turned upward, it does not hold by itself and will eventually fall. It you want it to hold in place, you will have to screw it on the wall (with a provided spacer). If you use the rotation feature, you must hold a small button while turning the head. If you press not hard enough on the button it will not turn. If you press too hard (which happened to me), the button will get stuck inside the surge and you wont be able to use it anymore (wont pop out again). I finally ended by removing the fallen button with a pliers and covered the hole with electric tape. PRO: It works as a power surge (at least I hope it does!). CON: Overall the quality is very mediocre. I was expecting more from a Belking product. I do not recommend this product.

Perfect For Frequent Travelers
I love this surge protector. It has served me well as I travel bi-weekly between Brasil and Canada. This surge protector has been a godsend. The only thing I needed to do was buy an adaptor in Brasil to convert to the conventional three-pronged North American style plug. It works even with 220V, no problem as well (just confirm what your plugging in is rated for 220V). The swivel function is a great idea; however, I believe the implementation could be improved in the feature as it wears out over time. But no problem I have used it frequently for three years now. I would recommend this surge protector as I don't see an alternative in the market.

not recommended
was very excited to find a product that would work in a particular switch I have. I pushed the button to move the prongs to where I wanted to have - as they rotate to where you want to have the item and the ground plug end breaks off. I did put it in the wall and it is not secure in the outlet and when you put more than one plug on it, it sags down and is not very durable...disappointed in this purchase... not worth the hassle to return because I am not going to pay for the shipping
