I wanted a wrist watch for swimming in my pool. I looked at scores of water resistant "sport" types and really liked the size, shape, large time display, color and band of this one. I read a few 'positive' reviews and placed my order for this watch. The next day I decided to read all the "Questions" and all the "Reviews". (I know, I'm an OCD, glutton for punishment.) Wow! After an hour or so of reading reviews of people being unable to set the watch, use it's additional functions and a few even stated it 'leaked' when exposed to water. (The colors that have 'dark' time display 'face' may have a valid gripe. I don't know because my watch, teal & blue, has a light colored display with black numbers and it's amazingly clear, sharp, and easy to read even underwater wearing swim goggles, under the bright Florida sun.) I was so concerned I tried to cancel my order. However, I received a reply that the order was too far along in shipping to stop it but I could return it when it was delivered. The following day I received it and was even more alarmed that the package was not sealed. But, the watch was still in it's box in side the shipping envelope so I decided to see if I could set it and figure out how to use all it's other functions. People, relax. I'm a really old man (and not a retired rocket scientist). I don't know if reading comprehension is an issue with all the befuddled, baffled 'negative' reviewers. But, this watch is awesome. It's true that the 'instructions' do leave much to be desired. However, if one sits in a comfortable chair, relaxes, takes the time to read carefully and follow the directions, I'm happy to report that every function can be accessed, displayed, set and used (chronograph, date, alarms, backlight in darkness and military time. After a week of 1/2 to 1 hour a day of wearing my watch while swimming it has not 'leaked' and it's time is still perfectly aligned with my atomic clock. Moreover, this is a REALLY good looking watch and the oversized time display is very, VERY readable in bright Florida sunshine UNDERWATER wearing swim goggles. I love this watch and it's perfect for the use for which i bought it. Btw, I have several 'daily wear' watches. I also have a really neat collection of interesting, unusual, vintage, stopwatches, timers and chronographs. I also have an excellent collection of WWII military watches and specific use timers. I would share a few photos but I haven't figured out how to that. And, I don't own a smart phone. But, I DO know how to set and operate this Armitron watch. :-)
