Great for riding, working, or just looking good
I wear these for ranch/barn work, I ride in them, and I wear them casually around town. They're great jeans for all three purposes and manage to look great while standing up to actual work. When you move, these jeans move with you no matter what you do. They're high enough in the back to provide plenty of coverage while riding or squatting down to grab something off the ground, but they're a low enough rise to still look good (assuming you like a lower rise, which I do). The problem I normally have with jeans is that the waist is too big, while the thighs and hips may be too small. For reference, I'm 5'9" 130lb and have a 24 inch waist, 34 inch hips, and usually wear a size 2 or 0 in regular pants and a 26-28 in breeches. I ordered these jeans in a 27. They work great with my body shape, like they were made for me. If you're thinner but curvy and have trouble finding jeans that fit your body shape, you might want to at least give these a try. They're also comfortable, flattering, and, at least so far, they don't stretch out or get baggy with use (how often can you say that about a pair of jeans?). As far as riding goes, I have ridden in them and had no problem, but I mostly like them for trail rides. For that, they're perfect. As for color, the Eclipse color is great. I thought I might not like the white contrast stitching, but to my surprise it ends up looking very nice. I bought my first pair elsewhere a few months ago and then when I saw them go on sale on Amazon, I bought another two pair of the Eclipse and a pair in Spitfire. Can you tell I like them?

Pretty nice jeans
Over all, I like these jeans quite a bit. I'm 6' & the extra long length is nice. I also like the real denim, heavier weight of these jeans. There's nothing flimsy about them & the stitching is nice. I like the extra belt loops in the back as well, they're cute & functional. My only complaint is out of 3 pair in the exact same size, not a single one is the same length & I would say they all run consistently a little on the large size. I'll order one size down next time. They are all long enough, but there is almost 3" difference between the longest pair & shortest pair. That's a pretty big difference for the same size.

These jeans are perfection from the waist through the seat and thigh. They are very comfortable, and have a bit of stretch so that it doesn't bind. From the knee down, they are NOT A RIDING JEAN ~ at least for riders in performance sports! They have gobs of material flapping around, which will ride up your leg as you ride and will be a bunch of excess material that won't fit inside your chaps or chinks. When I say gobs of material, I am talking about the fact that I can grab 4 inches of excess material, doubled right below the knee! Around my ankle it is 6 inches, doubled. I wish Ariat would make that a snugger fit~ it doesn't need to be tight, just snug, with a boot leg bottom. Performance riders like to keep their legs on a horse, and use more leg aid than hands, and this jean gets in the way of that task. I am still going to keep and use these jeans because Wranglers just make me miserable because of the tight waist. (I am a size 3, and their waists have always been 1 to 2 sizes smaller than other brands of the same size. I will probably end up altering them so that I don't have all that excess material flapping around on my calves.

I love these jeans once you get the right size figured out. They run tighter than my other Ariats and I have found that this particular style actually varies in fit depending on the pair of jeans too which is a bummer. The original pair that I purchase fit great, I lost a little weight and the original pair was starting to get too loose so I ordered another pair one size smaller. When they arrived, I found that I couldn't even get them buttoned, like not even close the difference in the two was much more than one size especially when the original pair was loose. I ordered an additional pair in my original size and the size I wear in other Ariat jeans, comfortably... yet again that pair was too tight too. My advice is to size up and if possible try these on in the store. They look great and fit great once you can actually find the right fit!

Very well made jean!
Absolutely loved the first pair of Ariat jeans I bought. They are the Ocean Blue. Have a somewhat relaxed fit and so comfortable! The second pair is considerably smaller! They are working out to mold to my body, which means are stretching out. The only problem is can't wear them all day, or if must sit for hours. Ariat jeans are well made, with reinforced seams and wash well. The only problem is, seems like sizing is not consistent. I am 5' 3" and 145 pounds. Bought size 30 short, and the midrise fit GREAT; length is perfect. Love them so much!!!! The second pair was much tighter, actually snug. Ordered the 31 short, but was too big and had a fabric defect. The second pair of 30 short are responding to breaking in! It is also forcing me to shed some unwanted pounds! They are worth the trouble, so keep returning until you get the right fit. Return ing is very easy.

For a curvy woman
Material is good and heavy. Pretty color, looks like the picture. True to size, but fits to high, the back pockets are really big and to low. I really liked them until I put them on, they look dumpy on me. These jeans would be wonderful for a curvy woman, one with a nice butt. I buy jeans to make me look like I have a butt, these point to the fact I do not, worse than that the pockets rest against my legs making me look like I have an indentation where my butt is. Urrggg

Most comfortable jeans I have ever owned! They fit exactly as expected. I'm a bit curvier through the hips and thighs and didn't think the waist would fit when I tried them on, but they did just fine with no gap in the back. I'm normally a size 8-10 in jeans depending on the brand (5'4" 137lbs), so I ordered a size 29.
