It worked

It worked as I could not open the canister for the replacement membrane filter using my hands but it took many tried and a lot of effort. I tried an oil filter wrench (cheap one with rubber) and that didn't work.

for Apec RO membrane housing

So i ordered a couple of generic RO membrane housings and this wrench. I primarily bought it to open my older membrane housing, but this wrench was supposed to be for my new housing as well. So what i did was check my housing and it has 13 ridges, this wrench has 13 notches. So i thought most would make the housing the same diameter, but no, the generic ones are just slightly smaller and slips. I'm not faulting this wrench as it's an Apec wrench. But just a warning to those who bought generic cheaper RO membrane housings this wrench wont work.

Drain the tank first to relieve the pressure then use these. Game changer.

Should’ve been included with my countertop system...

It’s annoying I had to buy this separately instead of having it included with my countertop system that I paid $300+ for, but it is what it is. Also the wrench doesn’t give a snug fit on the cap, there’s a little wiggle room which really shouldn’t be that way since it’s designed to work with the manufacturers own products. Would’ve been nice to include a rubber grip also to hold the casing with your other hand when you’re opening the membrane because it’s a pain in the butt. Anyway, it ultimately did what I needed it to do, so it gets 3 stars.

difficult to unscrew the housing cap

I ended up disconnecting the stage 4 filter but still I couldn't unscrew it. Finally I found a helpful hint from internet and used a blow dryer to heat the housing cap and was able to unlock it

Handle is a little short

The handle is a little short, it will perfect if longer

Great wrench but for APEC housings only.

Doesn’t fit my housing. The description clearly states it is for APEC only, but I missed it. I didn’t try it until well past the return period. Looks like a well made wrench.
