Amazon basic…

You know, it’s not terrible. I have up to this point bern super impressed with “Amazon basics” hand tools. This has a good finish, but WAY TOO MUCH wobble on the adjustable arm of the little wrench. Experience tells me that the first time it binds on a fastener it will spread the jaws and fail. We’ll see. I mean for the price it may be ok, n but not typical for quality control I’ve experienced with Amazon’s brand before.

I did it myself

My rollator brakes were loose. I kept asking friends to bring a tool to tighten the brakes. After a week I purchase the wrench. They are now safe.

Decent and at a good price

Decent wrench that I got for under $5 so it was a steal. Seems to be of good quality comparable to other brands. There was a small burr on the handle but it filed off easily. Otherwise, no problems

Could be better

Not much. The wrench I had a hard time using because it was near impossible to get a tight grip on something and if I was lucky to after multiple attempts it's width would loosen or tighten while trying to hold it in place

Not perfect, but good value for the price

Let's get one thing out of the way: a 4" adjustable wrench is not a toy. It looks like a toy, sitting in the palm of your hand. It weighs so much less than a "normal" sized adjustable wrench that you might think it feels like a toy. But it's a very real, very handy tool. It weighs quite a bit less than the its more tool-appearing 6" bigger sibling, so it's great for taking as part of a lightweight emergency tool kit. That small stubby size helps it get into narrow spaces. This is a great tool for assembling furniture, for tightening awkwardly-placed nuts and bolts, and for light repairs on the go. It's great for holding one end of a nut/bolt combo that you need to tighten to moderate, even firm, tightness. This Amazon Basics wrench is not the best example of this tool that I've ever owned, but it is one of the more affordable examples. I don't want or need to pay tool truck prices for a wrench of this size. For less than $8 for this tool, I can put up with some quality compromises. That said, the jaws adjusted smoothly, and the handle was well finished, with no sharp edges. I believe this tool is likely to last me a long time--and it will definitely get used.

Very well made

I was very surprised to how well this Amazon adjustable wrench was constructed compared to the Crescent brand one. The jaw and thumb screw were well fitted with very little slop in movement. For the price and quality, I will give 5 stars.

It's a tiny little wrench

Although I read the description I expected to be a bit bigger. All together is smaller than my hand.

This is a tiny wrench! It is good for adjusting lockshield valves on radiators, but I wouldn't use it for anything else.

Perfect from everything aspect

Its price is great, and the product felt hefty (durable and heavy). Used it to change my shower tap and worked great. Just what I need.

A well-made, good size range of basic adjustable wrenches.

Amazon Basics 4-Piece Chrome-Plated Adjustable Wrench Set This set of adjustable wrenches come in simple packaging, just a cardboard box with a sponge lining cut out to hold the four wrenches securely, the four tools are also cable tied together to avoid sliding apart in transit. No money wasted on a fancy plastic case that you will probably never use. The wrenches cover most of the common sizes you ever will want in your workshop. They are drop-forged steel and bright chrome plated, each wrench has a millimetre scale etched into one side of the jaws and an inch scale on the other side, which enables you to set the size before use, a useful feature. As with most adjustable wrenches, the moving jaw is operated with a threaded, knurled, worm, on all of the wrenches I found this to be free moving but with minimum play or slop between the worm and the moving jaw. The knurl can be taken out for cleaning by removing the threaded pin which holds it in place, this also releases the moving jaw. The jaws on all of them meet nice and parallel, this will reduce the likelihood of slipping and rounding nuts when they are used, although it’s difficult to say how long they will remain this way after extended use. I tried all four of the wrenches on various sizes of nuts and bolts to see how they felt in use. they all sit well in your hand, the handles are a good length and girth making them comfortable to hold and use.

Great range of sizes.

Coming as a set of four, this is a really handy set, the smallest, the 6", has a jaw that'll open to 23mm, while the larger, the 12", will open as far as 37mm, obviously the larger the spanner, the easier it is to apply turning force & tighten or loosen, but the little one being better suited to situations where access may be limited. The other two sizes fit somewhere in the middle, but it's just handy to have more than one at a time, rather than hunt for the exact spanner size. Jaw opening sizes are all etched in, mm to one side, imperial sizes to the other. They're nicely finished & adjust easily. No faults to find.
